Nex is one of Zaros' most powerful followers. She is imprisoned in the Ancient Prison, sealed away beneath the God Wars Dungeon.
Nex's Ancient Prison is locked behind the frozen door in the southern part of the God Wars Dungeon. Nex can only be accessed after the completion of The Last Journey Quest.
Fight overview
The Nex fight on PkHonor consists of five phases. At the start of the fight, all of Nex's minions are protected by a spell. During each phase, Nex must be damaged until she calls on a minion to defend her. Nex will be placed under a protective spell and you must kill the respective minion to break the spell. Once the minion is killed, Nex heals some health and the next phase begins. This is repeated until the final minion is killed, after which Nex will enter a final empowered state.
Throughout the fight, Nex and her minions will reduce your stats with her attacks. It is highly recommended to bring stat restoring items such as Overload Potions and Super Restore Potions.
Nex also has the ability to cancel the effects of an Overload potion. The following message will be displayed in the chatbox when this happens: “The power of Zaros has stopped your overload effect!”
Phase | Minion | Minion Attack | Nex HP Range |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Fumus | Smoke Spells | 3000 to 2400 |
2 | Umbra | Shadow Spells | 2400 to 1800 |
3 | Cruor | Blood Spells | 1800 to 1200 |
4 | Glacies | Ice Spells | 1200 to 600 |
5 | N/A | N/A | 600 to 0 |
The easiest way to keep track of the phase is to watch for Nex's battle cries. Game messages in the chatbox will also inform the player if an NPC is currently under protection.
The fight can be simplified by following these points:
- Attack Nex until she says “Fumus, don't fail me!”
- Kill Fumus → pray range
- Attack Nex until she says “Umbra, don't fail me!”
- Kill Umbra → pray mage
- Attack Nex until she says “Cruor, don't fail me!”
- Kill Cruor
- Attack Nex until she says “Glacies, don't fail me!”
- Kill Glacies
- Nex will say “NOW, THE POWER OF ZAROS!”
- Kill Nex
- Nex will say “Taste my wrath!” Run to Avoid Nex's Wrath as she dies.
Note: Ironmen will have The Wise Old Man accompany them in their fight, similar to in The Last Journey Quest.
Fight Technique
Nex is most efficiently killed with Melee or Ranged. If using Ranged, ruby bolts (e) are highly recommended due to their special effect. Pray Protect/Deflect from Magic, Piety/Rigour/Turmoil, and start with Magic protection prayer when engaging Fumus. A form of poison protection, stat-restoring items, and the Bandos Kiteshield are highly recommended as well.
For optimal strategy, consider starting the fight by using Ranged attacks. Begin with the Magic protection prayer against Nex's initial attacks. After defeating Fumus, switch to Ranged attacks. Once Umbra is defeated, switch back to praying against Magic attacks. This approach will enhance your effectiveness and chanse of surviving in the battle.
