Lizardman Shamans are giant reptilian humanoids that are stronger than their normal lizardmen and lizardmen brute counterparts. They are often sought after for their dragon warhammer drops. They never become tolerant to the player.
Fight overview
Lizardman Shamans use the following attacks:
- Melee attack - a standard melee attack sharing the same animation as the other lizardmen.
- Ranged attack - a standard ranged attack sharing the same animation as the other lizardmen. This attack can poison.
- Special attacks - Lizardman shamans have three special attacks that can be used without cooldown
The Lizardman Shamans have several special attacks that they can utilize during the fight. Excluding the spawns, these attacks do not have a cooldown so it is possible for a lizardman shaman to repeatedly use the same ability over and over again.
- A green acidic attack that will deal 25-30 damage. Wearing tiers 1-4 Shayzien armour will reduce the damage of this attack greatly; wearing a full set of tier 5 Shayzien armour will reduce this damage to 0. This attack can also cause poison starting at 10 damage.
- A jump attack that targets a small area where the player was previously standing on. If the player is in that landing area when the shaman crashes down, they will be dealt with 20-25 typeless damage. This jump has a 3×3 AoE and is not used if the jump location is obstructed.
- It may summon several small purple spawns that appear next to the player. After a few seconds, the spawns will explode. The damage dealt is anywhere from 5-10 depending on the player's proximity next to them; their explosion covers a 5×5 area
Fight Technique
If using Melee: Activate Protect from Melee and set up your Dwarf multicannon north-west by the obstruction in Lizardman Canyon, or set up your cannon in the open area south-west. Always pay attention to all special attacks, namely leaping and summoning minions regardless. Move out of the way as soon as you see them jump, and dodge the minions by maneuvering around an obstacle or moving a few spaces away.
If using Ranged: Activate Protect from Missiles and set up your Dwarf multicannon in the north-west corner near the obstruction in Lizardman Canyon. Focus primarily on killing the north-west and south-west spawns. Always pay attention to all special attacks, namely leaping and summoning minions. Move out of the way as soon as you see them jump, and dodge the minions by maneuvering around an obstacle or moving a few spaces away. As a ranger, always keep distance, and work the obstacles. Note that hugging the obstacle or wall in the canyon prevents the shamans from jumping.
Location
Three shamans reside in the western area of Lizardman Canyon, and is completely multi-combat. Warning: The player should be wary if more than one shaman attacks them at a time as they can quickly stack up damage from their abilities and attacks, which can quickly end a trip.
The Lizardman Canyon can be reached through the Monsters Teleport in the spellbook. Once you have used the teleport, use the ladder to the west to enter the Canyon.

Gear Setup
Once unlocked, Shayzien Armour (5) should be used. Otherwise, the best ranged gear available should be used. Shayzien Armour provides protection from the Shamans' acid attack. This gear can be obtained by talking to Captain Babacus at the entrance to Lizardman Canyon. If you have unlocked the Shayzien Enhancement Slayer Perk, use a Slayer helm (i) in place of a Shayzien helm (5).
