Prayer is a combat skill. Prayer is trained by burying bones or using them on an altar. Different bones give different amounts of experience. Using Bones on an Altar will provide 4x the experience as burying them would.
Prayers are unlocked as the level in the skill goes up, which are used to aid the player in combat. The prayers can help with Attack, Defence, Strength, Ranged, Magic, and Hitpoints; among other uses. When prayers are activated, they drain the player's prayer points until the prayer is turned off or all prayer points are used. To have Level 126 Combat you have to have 96 prayer and 99 Attack, Strength, Defence, and Hitpoints.
The most common types of bones used for training prayer are Dragon Bones and Frost Dragon Bones.

Ancient Curses
The Ancient Curse Prayer book is unlocked at the Ancient Altar in Edgeville. Ancient curses cost 100 pkp per hour of combat they are used. Alternatively, players can unlock unlimited curses for a large amount of PkP and cash. The formula is: 5,000 PKP - 100 x (amount of 99 skills you've got (23 max)). It's 200 pkp less if you have 99 prayer and it's 100 pkp less for any other 99 you've got. So a maxed player would pay 2,600 pkp + 3b cash to have endless ancient curses.
