The Chaos Fanatic is an insane mage that resides west of the Lava Maze. He is surrounded by unattackable Miniature chaotic clouds, which serve as scenery. He drops one of three shards required to forge Odium wards and Malediction wards.
One quote is said every time the Chaos Fanatic attacks the player.

- “I shall call him squidgy and he shall be my squidgy!”
Ironman Mode players have the ability to spawn this boss at a summoner in the wilderness.
Fight Overview
The Chaos Fanatic has two magic attacks. The regular attack is a red projectile. He has a special attack where he uses a green magical attack that explodes and can deal high damage, similar to the Crazy Archaeologist's explosive book attack. Players must run away from them to avoid damage.
Fight Technique
It is very important to note that with any of these setups, you will be risking all but 3 or 4 items while in the wilderness. Only take items that you are willing to lose! That being said, this guide will provide high, medium, and low tier items for each slot and each setup. It is up to each player to chose what he or she is willing to risk! If you are on a slayer task, a slayer helm should be used.
The most effective method of killing the Chaos Fanatic is using your best melee gear. Range is also a viable option. Mage is not a very effective option and doesn't provide any clear advantages over the other two combat styles.
The Chaos Fanatic attacks with two different Magic attacks. During the fight you should pray Protect/Deflect from Magic and Piety/Turmoil/Rigour. Protect from Magic will reduce the majority of damage done by his normal magic attack. The green magic attack can be avoided if you step off of the square that he is targetting. Avoiding this attack will help your trips last longer. However, if you are using a weapon that heals you constantly like the whip of souls, avoiding this attack is not necessary.
Location
The Chaos Fanatic is located at level 40 Wilderness, west of the Lava Maze in multi combat area. The fastest way to get there is by using the KBD teleport in the monster teleports on any spellbook.
Gear Setups
It is very important to note that with any of these setups, you will be risking all but 3 or 4 items while in the wilderness. Only take items that you are willing to lose! That being said, this guide will provide high, medium, and low tier items for each slot and each setup. It is up to each player to chose what he or she is willing to risk! If you are on a slayer task, a slayer helm should be used. For this boss, you want to maximize your strength bonus and magic defense bonus. This will also help protect you from PK'ers. The Serpentine is also a very useful item to use in the wilderness as it protects you from all forms of poison and venom.
You should always bring at least a few super restores into the wilderness when PvM'ing. Super Prayer potions do not restore stats, and Overloads do not work in PvP. If a PK'er attacks you, and Saradomin Brews are your only means of healing, your stats will all be reduced. When your magic level is reduced, the PK'er will land every single freeze/entangle.
