Twisted Bow

The Twisted bow is a rare reward from the Chambers of Xeric that requires a Ranged level of 85 to wield. It can fire any type of arrow, including dragon arrows. The twisted bow is extremely valuable due to its unmatched power against monsters with a high magic level, such as Commander Zilyana.

Similar to the crystal bow, the Twisted bow has an attack range of 10 tiles. As all attacks have a maximum of 10 range, long range does not provide any attack distance benefit but may still be used to gain Defence XP.

The ranger mercenary outside Theatre of Blood wields a twisted bow, and it can be seen in one of the webs hanging in Nylocas Vasilias' room along with its owner. However, this particular bow is a piece of scenery rather than an item. Examining it results in the message “It seems like the owner must've dropped it, how unfortunate!”

Passive effect

Unlike other bows that have a set strength, the Twisted bow Twisted bow functions differently: the higher the target's Magic level or Magic accuracy is (whichever is higher), the higher the bow's accuracy and damage. The accuracy multiplier caps at 140%, while the damage multiplier caps at 250%. The Magic level or accuracy caps at 250 outside the Chambers of Xeric and 350 within.

Accuracy & Damage


Assuming dragon arrows, 99 Ranged and all damage boosting items and effects, the maximum hit with the twisted bow outside of the Chambers of Xeric or Tombs of Amascut is 88 (90 on accurate) on a Slayer task and 77 (79 on accurate) off-task.

Imbued Twisted bow

The Twisted bow can be upgraded with a Twisted bow imbue kit Twisted bow imbue kit which imbues the Twisted bow making it an even more powerful bow. Once upgraded, the Twisted bow imbued can be any one of these;

  • Green twisted bow (i) Green twisted bow (i): offers special attack that increases accuracy and damage by 10.90909090909091% for 30 seconds.
  • Red twisted bow (i) Red twisted bow (i): offers special attack that increases accuracy and damage by 10.90909090909091% for 30 seconds.
  • Purple twisted bow (i) Purple twisted bow (i): offers special attack that increases accuracy and damage by 10.90909090909091% for 30 seconds.

How to make

You will need one Twisted bow Twisted bow and one Twisted bow imbue kit Twisted bow imbue kit. Both the bow and the imbue kit can obtain these as rewards for completing Chambers of Xeric. In addition, both the bow itself and the imbue kit are tradeable items and can be obtained from other players or bought on the Grand Exchange. Once you have both the Twisted bow and Twisted bow imbue kit, right click the Twisted bow imbue kit Twisted bow imbue kit and click “use”. Next, click on the Twisted bow. This will turn the Twisted bow into a Green twisted bow (i) Green twisted bow (i). Once imbued, you will receive a message saying “the kit attaches itself to the item”.

Recoloring a twisted bow(i)

To recolor a Twisted bow (i), have the Twisted bow (i) in your inventory. Right click the Twisted bow (i) and choose the “Recolor” option. You will then be able to select which color you wish to recolor the bow. Any colored Twisted bow (i) can recolored again as many times as you desire.

Special attack

The regular Twisted bow does not have a special attack. However, every colored Twisted bow (i) does have a special attack. The special attack increases accuracy and damage by 10.90909090909091% for 30 seconds.

Using dragon arrows and a Green twisted bow (i) Green twisted bow (i) with 99 range with nothing else equipped and without using any potions:

  • Without special attack: Maxmium hit against NPC's is 44. Unded maximum hit is 46. Against players outside the wilderness is 29. Maximum hit against players in the wilderness is 34.
  • With special attack: Maxmium hit against NPC's is 48. Unded maximum hit is 51. Against players outside the wilderness is 31. Maximum hit against players in the wilderness is 37.
