**<fs 200%>Skotizo</fs>**

Skotizo is a demonic [[guides:pvm_guides|boss]] located beneath the [[guides:catacombs|Catacombs of Kourend]]. Accessing its lair requires the use of a dark totem on the altar found in the centre of the Catacombs; one dark totem permits only one attempt, which makes it a sporadic boss.

Skotizo was a general of Zamorak during the [[guides:god_wars_dungeon|God Wars]], but he was often outshined by Zamorak's more notable generals, such as Thammaron and [[npcs:kril_tsutsaroth|K'ril Tsutsaroth]].

After he and his soldier's cunning at the Battle of Carrallangar, Zamorak personally gave them their next mission, something he rarely did. The mission was to lead an expedition to recover a certain artefact in the Karamjan Temple found within the Kharazi Jungle. Skotizo was delighted by being assigned the mission and set out as soon as possible to please his god.

Reaching the Temple after a few days, Skotizo and his squad had managed to reach the Temple's centre after navigating a large maze. Now in possession of the artefact, Skotizo betrayed his squad, taking the artefact's power for himself and decimating the expedition team.

Skotizo managed to avoid Zamorak's wrath and traveled to Zeah, where he used the artefact to summon a large variety of monsters, creating what is known today as the Catacombs of Kourend. Today, Skotizo remains deep beneath the Catacombs.

**<fs large>Fight overview</fs>**

At any time during the fight, Skotizo will randomly activate the Awakened Altars found in the north, south, east and west central areas of the room. These Altars increase its Defence while activated, and have 100 Hitpoints each. It is best to take them out whenever two or more are present as they will drastically increase its Defence. When travelling to disable the Awakened Altars, the player should temporarily switch to [[skills:prayer|Protect from Magic]], as Skotizo does not close in to use melee attacks. Arclight will instantly disable them in one hit regardless of the player's stats and gear.

After half of Skotizo's health is depleted, it may summon three reanimated demon spawns or a Dark Ankou to aid it. If the player is using [[skills:prayer|Protect from Melee]], they will pose no threat. If the minions are slain, Skotizo may summon them again. As such, fighting the minions provides no benefit, so the player should instead focus on Skotizo and the Altars.

<WRAP warning>Warning: If the player dies in Skotizo's area, there is absolutely no way to retrieve items lost on death! Should the player need to leave, they can either teleport out or use one of the four portals in the corners of the boss chamber.</WRAP>


**<fs large>Fight Technique</fs>**

Like all demons, Skotizo is vulnerable to the powers of demonbane weapons such as the [[guides:catacombs|Silverlight, Darklight and the Arclight]]. If currently on a black or greater demon [[skills:slayer|Slayer task]], Skotizo is also vulnerable to the [[skills:slayer|Slayer helmet benefits]].

Generally, the best method to fight Skotizo is to use [[guides:catacombs|Arclight]] and wear armour with high Magic Defence (e.g. black dragonhide armour) while having [[skills:prayer|Protect from Melee]] active so the only source of damage will be from Skotizo's Magic attacks.

Use the Monster Teleport in your spellbook and then select the #9 [[guides:catacombs|Catacombs of Kourend]] option. Use your [[guides:catacombs|Dark Totem]] on the Altar in the center. This will teleport you into Skotizo's lair.
